Mumbai: The Government of Maharashtra has partnered with Tata Trusts to build capacity with various government departments on a sustainable basis. Under this arrangement, Tata Trusts is supporting an internship programme, wherein 28 interns will closely work with the Government and Tata Trusts, over a period of 11 months.
The interns, selected on the basis of an interview, will be mainly involved in designing innovative ways of communicating the joint efforts of the government and Tata Trusts across Maharashtra. The last date for filling the application is November 10, 2016.The internship aims to encourage young Indians/citizens of the state to participate in government initiatives and contribute to the development of the state with their vigour and innovative ideas.
Communication that ensures transparency and accountability forms the foundation of a strong and stable government. Tata Trusts believes that communication platforms such as advertising, public relations and visual story telling are new-age tools, which amplify the impact of citizen-centric campaigns in the state. This forms the basis of the Tata Trusts’ collaboration with the Government of Maharashtra, which focuses on bringing together talented youngsters, under an internship programme, and set the tone for rolling out development activities in the state.
The objective of this partnership is to mentor and encourage the youth in Maharashtra so that they significantly contribute to the state’s development. Interns will get opportunities to use their innovative ideas and technology to devise effective communication plans to help raise awareness about the joint campaigns in the state, covering health, education, livelihoods and community development. On completion of the internship, candidates will be awarded with a certificate acknowledging their contribution to the programme.
Under this internship programme, the Directorate General of Information and Public Relations invites applications for the following experienced personnel to work as Interns (Senior Category):

The applicant needs to meet the following criteria in order to be considered for the internship:
- The applicant must be computer and social media literate with working knowledge of MS Office and other necessary computer programmes associated with the field he/ she is applying for
- Candidate's age should not more than 30 years as on September 30, 2016
- He / she would need to bring their own laptop during the period of the internship
- He / she should have thorough knowledge of Marathi, English and Hindi
- He / she should have some experience in the relevant field as this will be an added advantage. Experience of working with any government related project or scheme will be given more weightage.
- He / she will receive an honorarium/allowance from Tata Trusts every month after a performance evaluation
- This internship is not an employment with the Government of Maharashtra and therefore he / she will not be entitled to facilities available to Government employees
