Raah — Envisioning India’s First Development Corridor

A Joint Initiative of Tata Steel Foundation and Tata Trusts

The Jamshedpur-Kalinganagar Development Corridor project is a joint initiative of Tata Trusts and Tata Steel Foundation. It has led to the development of 72 Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDPs) covering 450+ villages in 5 districts across the states of Odisha and Jharkhand, using the DELTA framework as a base to transform the corridor over a ten-year period. This process document has been developed based on the functional, technical and field experiences of Tata Trusts during the DELTA implementations in different geographies, with requisite contextualization in the Jamshedpur-Kalinga Nagar Corridor and captures the design and implementation components of the project. The DELTA Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and Training Manual developed by Tata Trusts can be referred for insights into the thought process and approach of the various components of the framework.

Phase 1 of the Jamshedpur Kalinganagar Corridor project was completed in 2019. A detailed process document, which covers the processes, challenges and outcomes of the Corridor initiative, may be accessed here.
