On 8 April 2024, Tata Education and Development Trust (TEDT) and Tata Power Community Development Trust (TPCDT) came together to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work towards wholistic development in the state of Odisha. The two organisations will combine their expertise to focus on livelihoods, healthcare, education, employability and entrepreneurship in Odisha.

In the field of education, the aim is to collaborate with learning facilitators and schools to improve student learning levels specifically in elementary science to promote understanding of renewable energy amongst children.
In a bid to improve access to healthcare for the rural and tribal communities, the Tata Trusts have proposed deployment of Mobile Health Units (MHUs) in Lakhpati Kisan clusters. Women from the community institutions will be trained so as to facilitate spreading awareness amongst the community on the various services offered by the MHUs.

The organisations will collaborate and train the youth channelising their potential and developing vocational skills. They will also work collaboratively and use sports to empower and uplift the youth in Odisha.
Under this MoU, the teams will create cross linkages between programmes thereby improving facilities for entrepreneurs, artisans and self help groups within the ‘Antaran’ and ‘Anokha Dhaaga’ programmes . They will also explore the setting up of e-commerce platforms and links to online marketplaces.
