 Awareness programmes on in-situ management

                                                                                                        conducted with approximately 130,000 farmers
                                                                                                        from 16 districts of Punjab and Haryana.

                  Key Achievements                                                                       Livestock: Development of livestock-centric

                  covered around 186,000 members across the project areas.
                   Various rural marketing initiatives were taken up by Apex Level Institutions across the country. To list a
                  few: 3,600 quintals of potato was harvested in Nagaland; 100 quintals of apples, 20 quintals of vegetables
                  and about 100 quintals of basmati rice were marketed in Uttarakhand; 50 quintals of pepper and
                  vegetables in Andhra Pradesh; 880 quintals of paddy and 470 quintals of tomatoes were sold in Jharkhand
                  along with cauliflower and cabbage; and soilless saplings worth Rs 23.5 million were produced from 58
                  polyhouses.
                   13,300 small tea-growers adopted sustainable tea-growing practices in Tamil Nadu, resulting in
                  production of 200,000 quintals of tea.
                   2 artificial glaciers, used for summer crop irrigation, were constructed in Ladakh, along with the Village
                  Coordination Committee.                                                                Circle of progress: Women are the epicentre
                   A pilot satellite pig-breeding unit was set up in Mizoram. The Producer Groups Federation supplied 103   of a community meeting
                  tons of pig feed and sold 220 quintals of maize for pig fodder.
                   144 poultry units (with an average of 500-600 chicks per unit) were initiated in Vidarbha region of
                  Maharashtra.
                   The programme operationalised by Dairy Health and Nutrition Initiative India Foundation (DHANII) under
                  the Tata Dairy Mission facilitated an average procurement of approximately 226,000 litres of milk per day,
                  with 77,700 members providing milk across 1,769 milk pooling points established under the programme.
                  So far, five Milk Producer Companies (MPC) have been established and operationalised by DHANII – 2 in
                  Rajasthan and 1 each in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Punjab.
