Lasting progress in education requires attention to the institutions, practices and structures that shape learning at scale. The Tata Trusts strengthen efforts that address critical gaps in the education system, reinforce institutional capabilities, and generate approaches and knowledge that can inform wider practice and policy.
As per a 2026 NITI Aayog report, secondary education remains the most fragile link in the schooling cycle, where economic constraints, social factors, and weak institutional support converge to limit participation. The Tata Trusts strengthen secondary schools by upgrading learning facilities, training for professional development of teachers in 21st-century skills and enhancing subject-based pedagogy and providing remedial assistance to at-risk students.
